Educational OutreachThe Butler County Symphony is proud of its involvement with the youth of the local community. Various annual programs provide opportunities for young people to attend concerts, audition to play with the orchestra, and see and hear our guest artists in their local schools. These programs, coordinated and organized by Symphony board members, include the Young Artist Competition, Young Musicians of Note, and the Classics Alive program. The Butler County Symphony gratefully acknowledges support by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency, through its regional arts funding partnership, Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA). State government funding for the arts depends upon an annual appropriation by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by Elk County Council on the Arts.
